Tilesplus confirmed to Sponsor Supersport at Armoy Road Races.

Ballymoney business, Tilesplus, has signed up to sponsor the Armoy Road Races’ Supersport race on Saturday 27th July 2019.

With less than two months to go, road racing enthusiasts and local businesses have come together to assist one of the best national road races there is, the Armoy Road Races.

Lindsay O’Neill MD of Tilesplus is one such businessman. He said, “Bikes and road racing have been in my blood from a very young age. I have always had a huge interest in all forms of motorcycle racing, the opportunity arose to sponsor the Supersport race at Armoy and as it is a local road race and we are a local company, it was right to lend our support for this unique sporting event.

“We sponsor quite a bit, all in the local Ballymoney, Coleraine and triangle area, supporting all sports at primary school level plus football, rugby and GAA at amateur level. We are currently working with the University of Ulster (Coleraine campus) in support of a sports’ hub for disabled children, where kids come along on weekly basis and try a variety of sports. The Armoy Road Races are something different with the Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club staging a brilliant event which we are very excited to be involved with.

“Our business is very much about the customer and providing exceptional service, top quality products and great value for money. We not only stock a large selection of tiles but also display and retail a fantastic selection of bathroom/sanitaryware and assistance with installation. I like to think that we offer our customers that something special in both commercial and private retails sales.

“The end of July won’t be long on making its way around and I’m really looking forward to the races and all it entails as a sponsor. The Supersport on Saturday is always one of the ‘must watch’ races so I’m very keen to see who the main contenders will be.”

Tilesplus is a local owned family run business employing local people servicing the local and national domestic and commercial market place. Established in 2001, Tilesplus has steadily grown from a small shop with one member of staff in Coleraine to one of the best tile showrooms in Ireland, just off the A26 between Coleraine and Ballymoney.

Bill Kennedy MBE, Clerk of the Course, said, “Once again, a great local business has stepped up to help us. We are very happy that Lindsay and Tilesplus have come on board as a sponsor. It’s good that we have someone who loves the sport as much as we do. To be honest that’s apparent in all of our sponsors; we are very lucky indeed.

“Tilesplus is a great addition to the Armoy Road Races and I’ve no doubt that local people and businesses will in turn support him and his business. We’ve one more race left for sponsorship – the Open Race, another high-profile race in addition to the Bayview Hotel ‘Race of Legends’.

“For many road racers, it’s still too early for signing up but we are very hopeful of a great turnout. We are very fortunate in that our reputation of looking after not just our sponsors, but our road racers precede us. And for the spectators and fans, well we always do our best to have the greatest and safest possible road race in Ireland.”

This year, Bike Week runs from Saturday 20th July until Saturday 27th July with the races taking place on Friday 26th July and Saturday 27th July 2019 culminating in the Bayview Hotel ‘Race of Legends’.  The Armoy Road Races are part funded by the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and Tourism Northern Ireland.
