
The MCUI (UC) technical has had a few requests for amendments or changes to technical rules. Changes have been made and three bulletins have been released by the MCUI (UC) and full details can be viewed HERE
Below are extracts from those bulletins that may affect riders at the Armoy Races:
KTM 790 twin – Supertwin Standing Regulations
Background: Armoy Motorcycle club has received a request from a rider to compete in the Supertwins class at Armoy Road races with a KTM 790cc Twin cylinder machine. This machine is not included in MCUI Standing regulations but is allowed to compete in Auto 66 events (Scarbrough) within their Supertwin regulations. This machine has similar performance to Kawasaki ER 650 and Aprilia 660 at 95-98 Hp and weight
Update: MCUI-UC Ltd will permit KTM 790 twin cylinder machines to compete in Supertwin events with the exclusion of any Road race /USBK championship points
Norton Rotary – Classic Superbike Standing Regulations
Background: Classic superbike regulations were generated to follow Classic TT regulations, Now called Formula 1 within the Classic TT for 2025. MCUI Regulations covered Rotary engines in the 1990s when used in Formula 1/Superbike but due to limited machine availability they have not been included in current Classic superbike standing regulations. With the increased interest in Classic superbike class, and rotary machines back in competition, the MCUI UC technical team are updating the regulations to include any rotary engine machines from the Formula 1 era
Update: MCUI-UC Ltd will permit Rotary engine machines up to 600cc ie Norton 588 or similar variants to compete in Classic Superbike class and eligible for any championship points & awards
