Support of Residents, Landowners & Businesses

Every year we are indebted to the generosity and support of our local residents, Landowners and Businesses that make allowances to the Armoy club during the planning, preparation and running of the Armoy Road Races. This year we have a few points to highlight.
Earlier this year, heavy rain led to a landslide on the Glenshesk Road between Armoy and Ballycastle and although this does not affect the actual Armoy course it may have an impact on traffic and residents diversions. Please bear this in mind and allow extra time for your travel plans.

Several businesses operate on and around the course and for a few the disruption causes them to close for a few days, one of these is the Armoy filling station. Damian and his family operate the garage and are great supporters of the races and happily allow fans to spectate from the garage grounds and forecourt.
The concerns that we all have is that people are parking behind and out front of the garage without permission to be on the private ground. Under no circumstances are Motorhomes allowed to stay at the rear/side or forecourt of the Garage. Provision may be made for a couple of marshal/medical vehicles only and this will work on an approved pass allocated by the club to the said official. NO PASS = NO ENTRY
Remember that every other day of the year the garage is someone’s livelihood and as such, under no circumstances will parking be allowed on the forecourt if not being used for shop purposes at any time during race week.

Private Ground, many of the farmers are very obliging and plan around cutting silage/crops etc to suit the Armoy Races allowing us to use the fields for Parking and Spectating. If you use these grounds be respectful and do not make fires or damage fences, gates, plantings and property and please use any bins provided or bag your rubbish.

It’s all about support and supporting each other. Thanks again to the local people and to you the fans for your continued support and assistance.
