Sponsorship Continues for Armoy Road Races 2024

EXCITEMENT continues to build for this year’s Armoy Road Races, which are taking place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July, as sponsors return to lend their support for the popular event.

Raymond Hodges and TT Racing, BDS Motorcycles, The Diamond Bar, Ballymoney and the Mermaid Club, Kircubbin, have issued sponsorship for the Moto 3 (GP 125cc), Supersport 300 and Lightweight Supersport races, which are running concurrently as part of this year’s race schedule.

Sponsoring a race for the second consecutive year, Raymond Hodges, a keen racer, and TT Racing are well known in the world of motorcycle road racing as is England based, BDS Motorcyles, owned by racer and competitor, Dave Suddes, which is also a returning sponsor, alongside longstanding Armoy Road Races supporters, The Diamond Bar and Mermaid Club.

Additionally, local men, Ian Hickinson and James McKillop are also returning to pledge their support for this year’s event by sponsoring the Junior Support race.

“As a Club, we’re very privileged that many of our sponsors are returning to support the Armoy Road Races,” commented William Munnis, Chairman and Clerk of Course.

“Armoy has an incredibly rich history of road racing and is well known across the world for hosting this exhilarating event each summer, which is all due to the support we receive from each and every one of our sponsors.

“On behalf of the Club, I would like to say a huge thank you to Raymond Hodges and TT Racing, BDS Motorcycles, The Diamond Bar, the Mermaid Club, Ian Hickinson and James McKillop – who all clearly love the sport as much as we do – for their continued support.

“The Junior Support and races like the Moto3, Supersport and Lightweight classes are entry level races that enable competitors to learn and experience the thrill of road racing. Having great sponsors onboard to support these classes certainly bodes well for the future of road racing.

“As a Club, we are currently busy putting the preparations together and we’re expecting this year’s event to be bigger and better than ever, both in terms of the riders competing and the fans who are travelling from all corners of the globe.”

“We’re delighted to be returning as sponsors of the Armoy Road Races for the second year,” commented Raymond Hodges. “Last year, the competition and the atmosphere amongst the fans was second to none so I was very keen to lend support once again. Best of luck to all the riders, I’m looking forward to what I know will be a great weekend of racing.”

Elsewhere, Martin Doyle from The Diamond Bar added: “We have been supporting the Armoy Road Races since the event’s inception in 2009 and it always boasts the best of the best in terms of road racing talent.

“We’re very proud to give back to our local community and to support one of the area’s top sporting events.”

Concluding, Ken Palmer from the Mermaid Club said: “We’re really looking forward to being back at Armoy in just a few weeks’ time. It’s a legendary event that works hard at keeping all the road racing classes on the grid while attracting the top road racers to the beautiful north coast.”

Part funded by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, the Armoy Road Races are set to take place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July, culminating with the prestigious Bayview Hotel Race of Legends.

Programme packages are currently on sale via the website, that includes a vehicle parking pass and a limited-edition event lanyard which enables spectators to enter specific vantage points around the circuit.
