Go On Board to Support Prestigious Race.
With just a few days to go until the Armoy Road Races, which are taking place from Friday 26th – Saturday 27th July, Go, a local brand for retail and unmanned forecourts, has been secured as a sponsor for the very first time.
Go is a long-standing supporter of road racing and has pledged sponsorship for this year’s Supertwins and Supermono 2 race, which is taking place on the Saturday.
Go was founded from LCC Group whose headquarters are based in Cookstown, County Tyrone. LCC Group is an ever-expanding family-owned company that provides a range of services spanning various energy sectors across the world.
Since Go’s inception in 2008 it has continued to increase the total number of fully automated 24 hour express and Go dealer network sites across the UK and Ireland.
Welcoming the team at Go on board, William Munnis, Chairman of Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club and Clerk of Course said: “We are extremely delighted to have the support of Go for this year’s event.
“Go has been a keen supporter of road racing events in Northern Ireland for quite some time and the team’s love of the sport clearly aligns with the club, making their sponsorship an ideal fit. Sincere thanks to Daniel Loughran and the wider team. We are very grateful for your generosity – without sponsors like Go, this event simply would not come to pass.
“The Supertwin race is usually one of the most highly contested races with a three-way photo finish in 2022 with Jamie Coward taking the win. Last year, Michael Dunlop won the race on the KTS Racing – Kawasaki, normally ridden by Yorkshire racer, Jamie Coward, who missed out last year due an unfortunate accident days before the 2023 race but returns this year to take the ride in this fiercely competitive race.
“With just days to go until the road racing begins, our club members and volunteers are busy preparing to make this year’s Armoy Road Races one of the best yet.”
Meanwhile, Daniel Loughran at Go added: “We are very excited to be sponsoring the Armoy Road Races for the first time this year.
“The Armoy Road Races has a reputation for being one of the most iconic sporting events and this is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Club members and volunteers that have made the last 15 years such a success.
“We’re really looking forward to the event and can’t wait to see who takes the top spot on the podium. I would like to wish the riders, spectators and everyone involved with the Armoy Road Races a safe and enjoyable event.”
Part funded by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, the Armoy Road Races are set to take place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July, which culminates with the prestigious Bayview Hotel Race of Legends.
Programme packages are currently on sale via the Armoy office, that includes a vehicle parking pass and a limited-edition event lanyard which enables spectators to enter specific vantage points around the circuit.
Race Week takes place from Sunday 21st July until Saturday 27th July with various events scheduled including a ride out and barbecue, a classic car display and a classic bike display.
