Causeway Geotech on Board for Armoy Road Races

ARMOY Road Races has welcomed Causeway Geotech as the new sponsor of the popular superbikes Open Race at this year’s event. With a packed programme of twelve races taking place over the two-day meet from Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July 2023, the Open Race will be one of the most hotly contested races on the Saturday for superbike riders and fans alike.

Last year it was a fast-paced affair between Davey Todd, Derek Sheils, Michael Sweeney and Mike Browne, with Todd taking the spoils on the Milenco by Padgetts Honda setting a new lap record of 107.81 mph on lap three of the seven lap thriller.

Causeway Geotech, ground investigation specialists with its headquarters in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim was established in 2012 and has rapidly grown to become the largest ground investigation contractor in Ireland.

Paul Dunlop, Director at Causeway Geotech said; “We are excited to be involved with the Armoy Road Races as sponsor of the Open Race for the superbikes. Our company operates out of Ballymoney and so over the years we have been very much aware of the races and the tremendous job the club members do in putting on such a great event for the road racing competitors, fans, visitors and the local community and we are pleased to be able to support them this year.

“We recently lost our colleague Donny Bremner who was a big motorbike fan – this sponsorship and the race is in memory of him and for all those times he talked to us about bikes and road racing. The team at Causeway Geotech is looking forward to being involved with the races first hand and having a great day watching the racing.”

From its base in Ballymoney, Causeway Geotech operates throughout Ireland and Great Britain delivering a broad range of ground investigation services to inform geotechnical and environmental conditions of sites. The company has expanded at an impressive rate over the past ten years, investing heavily in plant, equipment and personnel.

William Munnis, Chairman of Armoy Motorcycling Road Racing Club (AMRRC) commented; “We would like to welcome Causeway Geotech as the new sponsor of this year’s Open Race and to thank them for their support. I’ve said it before, but without our sponsors we really could not stage the Armoy Road Races. We really do value their help and it is great to see local companies like Causeway Geotech getting behind us.

“The preparations for this year’s race are well underway and I can promise you it’s going to be a great weekend of road racing!”.
