Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club pledges their support for Macmillan Cancer

AMRRC Member auctions a signed shirt in aid of Macmillan Cancer

ARMOY Motorcycle Road Racing Club Members are making an impact on and off the track by raising much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer.

As one of the most popular events in Northern Ireland’s sporting calendar, the annual Armoy Race of Legends event, was the perfect opportunity to get access to the world’s best road racers, to create an exclusive and one of a kind Race of Legends shirt, for a very special cause.

In a quest to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, a vital charity close to many hearts, AMRRC members asked all racers, who took part in the highly successful road racing event, to sign a shirt, which was then framed and later auctioned in a sealed bid auction.

Gary McKillop, AMRRC member said, “We are delighted to contribute to Macmillan Cancer Support, which does tremendous work both locally and throughout Northern Ireland. A huge thank you to our Supporters Club and Brandon McKillop who collected all the autographs at the races, and the riders for taking the time out to sign the shirt.

David Boyd from Kia Roadside Motors in Coleraine was the winning bidder, handing over the monies directly to the local Macmillan Cancer Support Group.

David Boyd said, “I would like to thank the local Macmillan Support Committee who work tirelessly collecting funds to support families in need, this contribution is just a small gesture in comparison to their continual hard work.

“As a life-long fan of Road Racing, I’m delighted with my purchase and look forward to hanging the unique ‘Race of Legends’ signed shirt, proudly in our Kia Roadside Motors Showroom in Coleraine, for all to see.”

Gary continues, “We are humbled with the generosity of David and our members who worked to make this possible and hope to continue our fundraising efforts, supporting local charities, for years to come.”
