SCOTTISH SPONSOR CONTINUES SUPPORT FOR 2026

JOHN M Paterson Ltd, a plant machinery hire and sales company based in South Ayrshire, Scotland has announced its continued sponsorship of the popular Supertwin 2 race at this year’s Armoy Road Races.

Returning for a third year as sponsor, John M Paterson Ltd is a family run company providing plant machinery for both long and short-term hire. Owners John and Karen Paterson have been travelling to attend the Armoy Road Races for a number of years.

The races will take place on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th July where the Supertwin 2 will form part of the Man of the Meeting races on the Saturday schedule and is always eagerly awaited by the riders and fans alike. Last year, local rider Paul Jordan took the top spot in both Supertwin Races, set a new lap record of 100.694mph as well as winning the ‘Man of the Meeting’ award after securing six podium finishes over the weekend.

John Paterson commented: “We are delighted to be able to return as sponsor for this year’s Supertwin 2 race. Armoy Road Races is a fantastic event, and we are looking forward to getting back over to County Antrim and being involved right at the heart of the action.

“We have been very impressed with the organisation and management of the races by the Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club and it’s great to see the event go from strength to strength each year, attracting a strong calibre of riders and fans from right across the globe. For us, it’s an event we really enjoy and look forward to year on year. I’m sure it will once again be an exciting two days of racing.”

With the Armoy Road Races expected to attract over 10,000 spectators, Club Chairman, Gareth McAuley said: “Preparations for this year’s races are well underway and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank John and Karen Paterson for their continued sponsorship and support. Without our sponsors we would not be in a position to hold such an event, especially to facilitate the expected number of fans due to attend to this year.

“The Armoy Road Races is an incredible event where fans are able to get right up close to the action, watching some of the sport’s very best. We’re now in our seventeenth year of hosting the races which is hard to believe, and we are confident that 2026 is set to be another exciting year of premier road racing.”

Supported in part by the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, the Armoy Road Races consist of two days of racing culminating in the prestigious Bayview Hotel Race of Legends.

Programme packages are on sale via the website and will include a vehicle parking pass and a limited-edition event lanyard which enables spectators to enter specific vantage points around the circuit. Visit: www.armoyroadraces.com for further details or search for ‘AMRRC’ on Facebook.
